Keyen

(thinks she's the boss)

Hey guys,

My name is Keyen and I’m known as the baker of the family. In college, my sorority sisters use to call me Bettye Crocker, lol. I graduated from Indiana University with dual B.A. degree’s in Telecommunications for TV and Film. I later received my MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.

By day, I am the Director of Programming and Grant Management for a local non-profit. By night, I am working on Yellow House Vibes creations, writing a new screenplay, or working on a film project. I love being able to express creativity!

You can also catch me watching or playing sports, traveling, dancing, hanging with good people, or just being a foodie!

Fun Fact: I’ve taken cooking classes in Thailand and Italy!

Ricca

(the younger sister)

Hey everyone!

I'm Ricca, the chef and caterer. I graduated from Indiana University and created my major, Sustainable Food Business. While at IU, I also attended Ivy Tech Community College where I obtained my Culinary Arts degree. My day and nights are mixed between working on and at my company, Your Box Catering, and developing and running Yellow House Vibes.

I really enjoy hosting friends and family. A perfect night would be sitting around a bonfire or around the dinner table playing games and having good conversation. I love my alone time with God in the mornings, shopping for home décor, traveling, creating recipes, writing blogs, entrepreneurship, and cooking as a form of therapy.

Fun Fact: I did a cooking internship at the Cuisinart Resort in Anguilla. If it’s on your vacation list, as it should be, feel free to ask me questions!

Where it all began.

We  built YHV on biblical hospitality principles that we learned from our grandmother.

Our grandmother had the type of home where everyone was welcome. No matter if you were rich, poor, young, old, black, or white, you were made to feel welcomed, taken care of, and loved in her presence. And if you haven't guessed already her house was yellow.

She was also a phenomenal cook. She always had a cake in the oven and a pot of greens, beans, or neckbones on the stove. She was prepared and everything she cooked was perfection. So that is why we are inspired to share with you how to perfect your cooking and make everyone feel loved in your presence. We will be teaching you how to become better cooks and hosts one

season” at a time through our seasonal cookbook subscriptions and instructional videos
